The World's Rarest Iris Fragrance?

From field to bottle in Lower Bavaria

Unlike most perfume houses, Danner & Flemming cultivates, harvests,  and extracts its own iris, creating naturally limited millésime  perfumes from a single annual harvest.

Aedes Perfumery visits Iris Field in Bavaria

Last week we visited Danner & Flemming in Lower Bavaria, where founders Christian Danner, Marcel Flemming and Theresa Höß oversee every step of production, from cultivation in the field to the finished perfume.

Like Fine Wine, Every Harvest Matters

Each fragrance is created from a single season's iris harvest. Production is limited to the amount of precious iris extract produced that year, making every bottle a true millésime.

THE HARVEST, PRESERVED

Every presentation box contains a slice of iris rhizome from the very harvest used to create that year's fragrance, along with a vial of the pure iris essence extracted from the same batch. Together, they offer a rare opportunity to experience the precious raw material at the heart of each millésime perfume.
